Dr. R. Michael Lloyd,
Mike Lloyd is a world renowned carbonate geologist specializing in the exploration of carbonate rocks and the integration of geological, petrophysical and geophysical data for the identification of exploration opportunities. He has a broad knowledge of most of the hydrocarbon basins of North America and extensive experience in international exploration. Mike had a thirty-five year career with Shell Oil Company where he conducted research in carbonate reservoirs and led Shell’s Modern and Ancient Carbonates Field courses. He was a Senior Staff Geologist in the Alaska Division and was Manager for Shell’s OCS Lower Sneider and Meckel where he was responsible for generating prospects and plays in Canada, Oklahoma, South and West Texas, and the onshore Gulf Coast. Mike continued to lead field courses for Shell as well as for Amoco. Mike has extensive consulting experience generating plays and documenting the hydrocarbon potential in the North American basin of Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, Montana, North Dakota, Kansas, Alaska, and Canada. His international experience includes the basins of Syria, Turkey, Philippines, Indonesia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Algeria, and Mexico.
